The city of Newcastle

Newcastle is a very attractive destination, has many historical buildings and interesting walks. It's also a modern and amazing beachside, the beaches here are some of the best in all Australia and are perfect for surfers, and the climate is very sunny all of this make of this city a recreational point where all water sports can be practiced.

The Newcastle Lighthouse is probably the main icon of this city, is located on Nobbys Breakwater at the entrance of Newcastle. In the past Queen's wharf was used as the industrial center of the city, with the coal export and the heavy industry it was not so nice, but after the earthquake some parts of the city were rebuilt and this was one of them, now the wharf is one of the city's landmark, in this area can be seen the Customs House, which has as main characteristic a beautiful old clock tower.

The central business district was also affected by the earthquake abd was also redeveloped, now there are some important buildings in this area at the eastern end of Newcastle, some of them are the Christ Church Cathedral, the Ocean Baths, Fort Scratchley, the old Customs House and the City Hall.
