Parliament House of Australia
This building is probably the most expensive construction in Canberra and was built in the 19th century.
In 1909 Canberra become the new capital city. Now the Parliament House attracts approximately 1,000,000 visitors a year.
Old Parliament House
Was constructed because of a Aboriginal protest for land rights for more than six months in 1972.
After twenty years a second tent embassy was constructed, to protest the fact that Aboriginal land rights had still not been
achieved, and it remains there still, flying the Aboriginal flag.
National Library of Australia
The National Library was established in 1960, in 1968 the Library was moved to a new building inspired by the Parthenon. There is a wide
and vast collection of books, maps, manuscripts, and many other information about the city and the country in this building.
